Job Description
Wheelchair Basketball Canada (WBC) is seeking a dynamic and organized team player for an exciting and challenging summer student employment opportunity. The Programs Assistant will contribute to a world-leading amateur sport organization and report to the Membership Coordinator.
Looking for a creative, detail-oriented and project driven individual that is capable of multi-tasking and managing short and long-term objectives. The successful candidate will support the implementation of the NSO membership management system, develop and execute a launch strategy for a digital training hub and design a national brand awareness campaign.
RESPONSABILITIES
- Assist in the operation and implementation of a national membership management system;
- Develop and execute a launch strategy for WBC’s online learning hub;
- Coordinate a national awareness campaign;
- Contribute to monthly partner updates and e-newsletter segments;
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of multiple departments;
The Programs Assistant shall also undertake other tasks, activities and responsibilities to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, and as agreed to with the Membership Coordinator and Program Manager.

Qualifications Required
QUALIFICATIONS
- A passion for sport;
- Prior knowledge and/or experience in basketball table officiating;
- Currently enrolled in post-secondary education or experience in sport administration;
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills;
- Demonstrates organizational, interpersonal, time management and problem solving skills;
- Creative mindset with experience in content creation;
- Ability to take direction and multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
- Team player with ability to work independently and take initiative;
- Proficiency with computers, technology and the internet;
QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED AN ASSET
- Experience with WordPress, Canva and Articulate 360 e-learning;
- Experience working in a sport environment;
- Oral and written fluency in French
- Background in marketing and/or communication
TERMS OF CONTRACT
- Full time, 2-month contract position
- Travel may be required
- Located in Ottawa, ON (virtual office with some in-person events)
