Assistant Controller

This role involves preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations, as well as managing the close process. Responsibilities include mentoring junior team members, overseeing accounts receivable, managing league reporting and audits, assisting in fiscal year business planning, and collaborating with various business units.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supplemental management reports
• Prepare and review journal entries and accompanying account reconciliations
• Assist in management of close process and checklist
• Optimize process procedures and documentation
• Mentor interns and other junior finance team members
• Oversee accounts receivable staff and collections for both premium and sponsorship revenues
• Oversee the accounting for ticketing and sponsorship revenues
• Prepare and manage league reporting and audits with minimal supervision
• Collaborate within the finance team as well as cross-functionally with various business units
• Record payroll journal entries and manage cost centers for accurate reporting
• Produce commission settlement reports and calculate sales commissions
• Build out audit workpapers and PBC schedules to assist in multiple audits throughout the year
• Assist in collecting and understanding business plans for each new fiscal year
• Work in office ~4 days per week
