Job Description

  • Lead and deliver Team Manitoba programming at major events such as Manitoba Games and Canada Games.
  • Manage all aspects of NCCP delivery for volleyball in cooperation with Volleyball Canada, Sport Manitoba Coaching, and the Coaches Association of Canada. This includes training and evaluation of coaches and the development of Learning Facilitators and Certified Evaluator in Manitoba.
  • Act as the technical lead for the association.
  • Providing technical guidance to support the growth of the community development programs, including coaching training, practice planning and workshop facilitation.
  • Be willing and able to actively coach a team in the Team Manitoba program as required on an annual basis.
  • Consult with partner organizations (Sport Manitoba, Volleyball Canada, CAC, etc.) to ensure that the association is contributing to the development of the sport in Manitoba and Canada.
  • Provide technical support to partner organizations (PSO, clubs, schools, communities, etc.) as required.
  • Association representative for Volleyball Manitoba’s Coaching Development and Provincial Performance committees.

Qualifications Required

  • University or College degree or diploma in Kinesiology, Recreation Management, Physical Education, Sport Administration, Coaching or related field.
  • Minimum five years’ experience working in high performance sport at the provincial, national, or international levels.
  • Minimum five years of Volleyball head coaching experience at the high school, club, provincial level or higher.
  • Demonstrated experience in performance preparation for major single or multi-sport games.
  • Volleyball NCCP Performance Coach certification required, or equivalent experience.
  • NCCP volleyball learning facilitator certification and experience is an asset.
  • In depth understanding of the Canadian volleyball system and Volleyball Canada Long-Term Development Model.
