Job Description

The individual in this role is responsible for building and strengthening community relationships and brand identity in the local communities. This position will also oversee the Texas Stars Foundation. The Texas Stars Foundation is a non-profit organization supporting community efforts in Central Texas on behalf of the Texas Stars.


  • Develop relationships with area organizations to promote the players, coaches, and mascot to the community
  • Community appearance scheduling and execution (players, coaches, management, and mascot appearances) and compilation of master appearance schedule/community calendar
  • Provide regular operations and fundraising reports to the Board of Directors and the Texas Stars Executive team
  • Assist the marketing department with posting and managing content for community relations on Texas Stars social media platforms
  • Responsible for the entire donation life cycle (collecting, approving, tracking, fulfilling, and giving receipts as needed)
  • Create profitable fundraising events that will increase positive visibility in the community and manage the grant process to disburse funds to local community organizations
  • Schedule and attend all Texas Stars Foundation board meetings
  • Oversee Texas Stars fan mail and emails
  • Manage execution of the 50/50 raffle operations including scheduling and overseeing game day staff, cash reconciliations, and winner payout process
  • Run and fulfill specialty jersey auctions
  • Create and manage other memorabilia auctions

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 years community relations and/or fundraising experience
  • Experience in marketing, social media, and event planning and execution
  • Ability to multi-task and manage appropriate steps to get projects completed
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft office
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a Team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; can effectively communicate and relate to all levels within and outside the organization
