ATR Sports has been servicing the Etobicoke and neighboring communities since 2008. A passion project of Mohamed Merali, who at that time was attending school full time in Scarborough, working at a national sporting store, and moonlighting as a technical rep for racquet companies. Mohamed recognized that there was a gap in the marketplace and jumped at the opportunity to open his own retail store specializing in racquet sports equipment, footwear, and apparel.
