The Minot Hot Tots, a baseball franchise competing in the collegiate summer baseball league known as the Northwoods League, represent Minot, North Dakota, and call Corbett Field their home turf.
In February 2022, the Minot Parks and Recreation Board voted to engage in negotiations with the Northwoods League, aiming to bring a new team to the city. This initiative stemmed from the impending disbandment of the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs of the Expedition League, whose tenure at Corbett Field was concluding. Negotiations were fruitful, leading to a press conference on August 24 at Corbett Field, where the Northwoods League announced Minot's inclusion in the league, with the team set to debut in the summer of 2023.
The team's name was determined through a "Name Your Team" competition, held in August and September. After announcing the finalists on September 12, which included options such as the Dakrats, Hot Tots, Why Nots, Berserkers, and Night Owls, the public ultimately chose the Minot Hot Tots. This moniker pays homage to hotdish, a beloved regional dish in the Upper Midwest.
