The LA Kings are seeking a Social Media Coordinator who will join a social media and content team to help with social content and assist in day-to-day duties of the social department. The position will include work with social media, merchandise items, content creation and analytics for various digital marketing and interactive initiatives, including taking the ideation and content creation lead on LA Kings Ice Crew and mascot Bailey’s social media accounts.  


  • Assist with day-to-day management of LA Kings-branded social media accounts while using the defined voice and tone of each account
  • Assist with community management on all LA Kings owned social media accounts
  • Lead Kings content creation for mascot, street team, foundation, and additional social media accounts
  • Strong ability to capture and edit photos using a DSLR camera or smartphone
  • Assist with creating graphics and short-form video content for team social channels
  • Assist with posting sponsorship campaigns on social media and ensuring contractual obligations are met in regards to correct handles, number of posts and metrics
  • Cover LA Kings events, including home and road games, Kings Care Foundation initiatives, and other team events, with the goal to produce captivating content that captures the attention of followers and casual fans
  • Lead effort in tagging all social posts and utilizing the reporting tools to make analytical decisions on content campaigns
  • Lead project management for new social media requests and content ideas

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

The Social Media Coordinator must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skill and abilities:

  • Understanding of major social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Reddit, TikTok), and the ability to maximize the LA Kings organization potential on each
  • Strong visual eye regarding the creation and curation of graphics, photography, and video for social. Excellent layout, color theory, and typography skills
  • Experience with social listening and analytics tools is preferred (Falcon, Sprout, TrackMaven, etc.)
  • Experience with project management software (Airtable, Asana,, Trello, Codebase, Jira etc.) to track creative projects
  • Ability to operate at the speed of social media and 24-hour news cycle with understanding of pop culture and internet subcultures
  • Excellent writing skills with an eye for grammar, spelling, and thoughtful story creation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written
  • Highly motivated self-starter and successful at working with tight deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate and give critical feedback on content, design, layout and story
  • Willingness and ability to work game nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Because of the nature of the department’s projects, a strong knowledge of the LA Kings and the NHL is essential
