Job Description

As a key member of the Information Technology department, this individual will be responsible for managing and delivering small to mid-size project(s) with some oversight. They will work collaboratively with other employees across the league, teams and outside vendors in addition to beginning to develop leadership skills through coaching.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management 

Initiation:
  •  Assist with vendor selection by identifying key requirements, scheduling demonstrations, and documenting feedback for vendor evaluation
  • Assist IT leadership with developing project budgets, forecasting costs, and tracking actuals
  • Develop strong understanding of essential business needs and processes to define project scope and objectives
Planning:
  •  Develop plans for project and organizational change focused on attaining scope and business objectives
  • Interview business owners and subject matter experts.  Document detailed business requirements and process flows (As Is & To Be)
Execution:
  • Conduct status meetings with project team including preparing agenda’s, status reports, and stakeholder presentations
  • Monitor deliverables and timelines while simultaneously managing risk to ensure projects are on-time and meet business objectives
  • Identify and document risks, decisions, issues, and actions, escalating and communicating to senior leadership when appropriate
  • Obtain stakeholder sign-off / approval on specifications, testing, and deployments
  • Collaborate and build community with technical teams and solution architects in designing optimal solution that meets business objectives
  • Ensure technical team members have a clear understanding of business needs and processes

Qualifications Required

  • Capable of working with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks across multiple projects/requests
  • Good understanding of technical concepts with demonstrated ability to learn and embrace new and changing technologies, applications, and solutions
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through and a keen attention to detail
  • Able to apply an effective set of decision-making processes and analytical tools to guide group and individual decision making
  • Analytical skills with the ability to think critically and develop creative solutions to business issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must, with the ability to communicate with all levels of stakeholders across the organization and across technical and non-technical disciplines
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships business owners and project team members
