Job Description

  • In collaboration with varsity head coaches, plan, design, implement, facilitate, and evaluate periodized annual strength and conditioning programs for varsity teams.
  • Responsible for the development, monitoring and implementation of strength and conditioning programming for varsity teams
  • Works closely with medical staff on injury prevention and recovery programs for varsity teams.
  • Assists with return-to-sport protocols of injured athletes and works with team medical staff and respective head coach regarding appropriate progression of their return-to-practice and
    return-to-competition.
  • Provide expertise in strength training and physical conditioning as requested by the head coaches of the varsity teams.
  • Schedule strength and conditioning workouts in cooperation with the head coach of each specific varsity sport, and coordinate access to the high-performance training facility in an equitable
    and safe manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining the varsity high performance training facility in a clean and safe environment and keep an accurate inventory of equipment.
  • Responsible for ordering/reordering all equipment as required.

Qualifications Required

  • Experience with creating and initiating sport-specific training programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
  • Strong organizational, administrative and computer skills an asset
  • A proven record of integrity, high principles, and demonstrated skill in developing/motivating student-athletes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment, get along and work well with members of the department, supervisors and other employees of the university
  • Proven history of strong collaboration with key stakeholders
