Job Description
The Aberdeen IronBirds, Advanced-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, are seeking a full-time, year-round Manager of Gameday Experience. Reporting directly to the General Manager, a successful candidate for this position will play a huge role in how fans interact with the ballpark. This role will oversee gameday staff and contractors, as well as all aspects of gameday and event-day stadium appearance and functionality. Success will require a detail-oriented, entrepreneurial attitude in making sure that Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium is a clean, safe, family-friendly venue for all IronBirds fans, visitors, vendors, and staff.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Recruitment, hiring, scheduling, and oversight of gameday staff, aka “Fan Hosts”, which perform the roles of Ushers, Ticket Takers, Hospitality Attendants, Kids Zone Attendants, Crowd Management, and more
- Safe and effective operation of all stadium elements on gameday and non-gameday public events, including:
- Setup of stadium areas:
- Concourse
- Public ingress and egress gates
- Club Level
- Seating Bowl
- Kids Zone
- Parking Lot
- Other areas critical to successful execution of games and events
- Third-party stadium operations contractors, such as:
- Janitorial, including janitorial supplies
- Security (local law enforcement)
- EMS
- Fireworks
- Security/Alarm System
- Setup of stadium areas:
- Communicate effectively with other departments including Ticketing, Partnerships/Marketing, Merchandise, Facilities, Baseball Operations, Creative Services
- Manage escalated customer service complaints related to gameday experience, or direct concerns to the proper department (ticketing, partnerships, etc.)
- Miscellaneous Minor League Baseball responsibilities including grounds maintenance assistance, mascot performances, team promotional appearances, box office assistance
- Manage year-round inventory of office supplies, including paper, pens, staples, paper clips, coffee station
- Ensure completion of work responsibilities and special projects in accordance within the designated timeframe, as determined by the General Manager
- Other duties as assigned and necessary for the success of the club

Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience including
- One or more seasons of professional sports operations, internship or full time
- Ability to work the entirety of every IronBirds gameday
- Entrepreneurial “take ownership” attitude regarding the position and its responsibilities
- Ability to stand, walk, run, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, reach, grasp, climb and descend stairs, and work long durations, up to 14 hours per day
