Job Description
The Carolina Hurricanes are hiring an organized, strategic, and creative Digital Content Strategist to help maintain and optimize the team’s website and write and produce articles for the team website. This position will report to the Senior Director of Marketing and will work closely with various members of the marketing team and organization in supporting various business and brand objectives. The ideal candidate has a passion for digital content and creating engaging and enjoyable fan experiences across key digital platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee management, maintenance, optimizations, and updates for Carolina Hurricanes team website, helping ensure organization is among league leaders in site quality.
- Using the NHL CMS platform (Forge), design, develop, and launch unique, functional, and branded web pages as needed, with focus on content and fan engagement.
- Produce articles for team website, including practice reports, prospect updates, business communications, press releases, etc.
- Update and improve existing web pages to align with current best digital and web practices and search engine optimization.
- Create best practices and style guide for team website, ensuring consistency across all pages in regard to grammar, punctuation, metadata, graphics, etc.
- Ensure optimization of website with a focus on driving fan engagement, revenue, and brand awareness.
- Work with other departments to ensure that team website is properly leveraged to support various business objectives across ticketing, corporate partnerships, community outreach and more.
Assist in additional editorial content, at the discretion of the Senior Director of Marketing and Editorial Content Producer and Team Reporter.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional experience in marketing, web design, communications, or other related field
- Background in generating editorial content
- Experience with website content management systems
- Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Understanding of SEO concepts
- Basic understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships
- Can be trusted with sensitive team information
