Job Description

The KidSport Canada board provides oversight and strategic direction to the organization and is responsible for the governance of the KidSport program across the country.  Specifically, these
responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic stewardship including the approval of the Strategic Plan
  • Development of policy and procedures to be followed across the country
  • Ensuring effective risk management
  • Monitoring the performance of the CEO and providing direction, and support as required

Qualifications Required

We are currently searching for ambitious and visionary Directors at Large to add to the KidSport Canada board from outside of the membership.  The purpose is to add diversity of skill sets and perspectives to the board to facilitate the growth of our organization into the largest charity in Canada.  The KidSport Canada Nominations Committee will identify the specific skills, experience, competencies, and diversity required on the board and attempt to ensure that all are met.  The time commitment expected is for 6 virtual and 1 in person board meetings per year plus any committee work.  Regardless of background it is essential that the Directors at Large believe in the value of children participating in sport and in the work that KidSport does to ensure that all kids have that opportunity.
