Job Description

The Games Operations & Delivery department is part of the Sport Division at the CPC. It is responsible for planning, preparing, and executing the logistical requirements for the Canadian Paralympic and Parapan American Teams’ participation in the Paralympic Games, Paralympic Winter Games, and Parapan American Games.

These logistical requirements are grouped into the following Functional Areas: Games Registration, Access & Accreditation, Travel, Arrivals & Departures, Accommodation, Cargo, Procurement, Telecommunications, Transportation, Team Wear, Gifting, and Venues & Infrastructure.

The Advisor, Games Operations & Delivery will collaborate with their departmental team members and internal/external stakeholders to oversee the planning and implementation of their assigned functional areas in support of the Canadian Paralympic Team for Paris 2024.

Additionally, this position will prepare project plans for their assigned functional areas in support of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Canadian Paralympic Team.

Qualifications Required

Experience

  • Minimum of three years of work experience within a professional environment and a proven track record of increasing responsibilities.
  • Experience working in the Canadian and/or Paralympic sports industry; or related field is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a multi-sport Games environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience as a Paralympian is considered an asset.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in a relevant discipline or a combination of training and related experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of the Canadian sport system and the Paralympic and Olympic Games is considered an asset.
  • Sport technical knowledge is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking in English; bilingualism (English / French) is considered as an asset.

Working Conditions

  • The CPC is headquartered in Ottawa, ON. The CPCis open to considering people based across Canada who would be interested in taking on this position remotely with the expectation of traveling to/from Ottawa as per the job demands.
  • Overnight, international travel and on-location work is required during the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games period (approximately 4 weeks).
  • Will be required to work evenings and weekends during busy periods.
  • Must hold a valid passport at all times.
