Job Description
The Director, Accounting is responsible for managing accounting staff for the Washington Wizards and other Monumental Basketball entities.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounting staff and operations relating to basketball and business operations including revenue, marketing, sales, ticket operations, broadcast and communications, and G&A.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Assist in coordination of year-end financial statement audit.
- Collaborate with department heads on annual budget and quarterly financial review.
- Prepare NBA league reporting (BRI, CFS, Game Reports) including coordination of club affiliate information and serve as primary liaison for multiple AUPs ensuring CBA compliance.
- Oversee gate revenue recognition and ticketing system reconciliation.
- Review sponsorship revenue allocations and trades.
- Assist with cash management including daily cash reports, weekly projections, and monthly reconciliation.
- Maintain fixed assets registrar and calculate monthly depreciation.

Qualifications Required
- Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience in accounting.
- CPA, CMA, or Big 4 experience preferred.
- Proven accounting experience at a supervisory level, preferably in the sports industry.
- 6+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
- Detailed knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Outstanding accounting software skills.
