Job Description
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Technical Director will lead Swim BC technical operations through continuous program assessment and enhancement; development and application of performance measures and analytics; planning, innovation, and inspiration. The successful candidate will have a passion for sport systems and swimmer development supported by a coaching and academic background. A high aptitude for communications, leadership, teaching, and mentoring are important to the role.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Ongoing assessment, enhancement, refinement and leadership of the existing Swim BC technical strategy and related programming, including but not limited to:
- Fulfillment of strategic and operational plan technical objectives.
- Camp and competition planning and conduct.
- Lead technical voice to the Swim BC Membership and external stakeholders.
- CSI-Pacific / viaSport Enhanced Excellence Program lead.
- BC Games / Canada Games direction
- Management, review, and application of Swim BC athlete ID, tracking and reporting programs.

Qualifications Required
Leadership: ability to speak publicly to core issues, assist others in understanding programs, plans, and decisions; an ability to influence individuals and groups towards set goals.
Program development: values assessment, evaluation, and collaboration; can successfully translate
these attributes to creativity and innovation in programming.
Analytics: An affinity for statistical review, strong analytical mindset.
Personal acumen: A self-starter, critical thinker, able to develop personal objectives and work
without supervision; accountable to commitments.
Innovation: maintains an overt curiosity for our sport, embraces an environment that encourages evaluation towards change, stimulating and creating more effective processes, programs and ideas.
Member services: ability to liaise and respond to multiple member inquiries and assist in policy, rule, and regulatory understanding.
