Job Description

Golf Canada is seeking a dynamic individual with strong time management and communication skills to join our High Performance department. Working closely with the Coordinator and Director, High Performance Sport, this role will involve coordinating and providing logistical support for Golf Canada's player development system.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Team Canada and NextGen Program Coordinator (75%):

  • Coordinate logistical support and administration for the player development program, focusing on the Team Canada and NextGen programs.
  • Manage apparel and equipment requests from players and coaches, ensuring inventory levels are maintained.
  • Collaborate with the communications department to create and update athlete and coach website profiles.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving for the High Performance department, including storage area maintenance.
  • Assist in the Team Canada selection process by researching player results, rankings, and other performance factors, and compile selection packages.
  • Maintain rankings pathway analysis for amateur and professional golfers.
  • Conduct a comprehensive study on Canadian amateur golfers attending NCAA schools, analyzing performance statistics and trends.
  • Aid in coordinating and planning logistics for Team Canada events (e.g., Media Day, Selection Camp).
  • Review and process Team Canada and NextGen player expense reports.
  • Perform other duties as required.

2. Talent ID System Report (25%):

  • Support the Coordinator, High Performance, and National Head of Talent Identification in administering the talent ID program.
  • Assist in executing and administering talent ID educational camps.
  • Compile and analyze results from talent ID camps nationwide, providing reports on player performance and trends.
  • Fulfill other duties as needed.

Qualifications Required

  • Post-secondary degree, diploma and/or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and administration skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, including professional and proficient phone, interpersonal and email communications.
  • Strong decision-making and conflict resolution abilities.
  • High Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Passion to help Canada emerge as a world-class golfing country.
  • Golf knowledge or experience is not required but a passion and interest in the game of golf and in Golf Canada’s mission is.
  • Ability to travel within the province and work overtime as needed.
  • Willingness to perform some moderate lifting (no more than approx. 30lbs) related to apparel and gear shipping.
  • A competitive golfing background is an asset for this position but not a requirement.
  • Bilingual (English and French) is considered an asset.
