The incumbent is willing to perform and assist part time staff with all tasks related to successfully completing their duties daily. Assisting the supervisors with scheduling staff across the unit to maximize efficiency in labour and reduce budgetary costs as best as possible. The typical work week is Wednesday to Sunday evenings, working all major events and delegating tasks to staff. The role also assists with training and developing experiential learning programs for part time staff develop and prepare them for post-graduation opportunities while working closely in the evaluation process of the staff at the end of each academic semester. The incumbent would assist with hiring of part time student staff and be responsible for staff performance, ensuring safe and enjoyable facilities while having the foresight to see a potential hazard and taking the steps to fix and address the issue.

Requirements of the position include:

  • Undergraduate Degree and two years related experience in an Athletics Facility.
  • Standard First Aid, CPR C, AED, AODA and a thorough knowledge of supervisor’s responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other applicable regulations are required.
  • Experience is required in administration and supervision of staff.
  • Important attributes include strong leadership, customer service, and budget administration skills; commitment to on-going professional development;
  • Proven ability to multi-task and manage time; excellent organizational skills;
  • Strong entrepreneurial nature;
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills; excellent computer skills including Active Net Software, MS Office, web-based scheduling programs, and social media platforms.

Qualifications Required

Hours of work: Hours of work will vary to include evening and weekend times any day of the week, to ensure supervision of programs and staff supervision. However, the regular work week for this position will be Wednesday to Sunday, 2 pm to 10 pm.  Hours will be flexible based on business needs and are subject to change.
