Job Description

USA Pickleball is seeking a dedicated Volunteer and Events Coordinator to play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating all event volunteer-related activities and operations. The Volunteer and Events Coordinator will be responsible for leading event volunteer recruitment, training, scheduling, and management for all owned and operated tournaments across the country. This role will also serve as the internal point of contact for all organizational-wide lodging needs for staff, referees, athletes, and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies for recruiting, retaining, and building a strong pipeline of event volunteers across the country.
  • Coordinate volunteer orientation sessions and ongoing training programs prior to events.
  • Maintain volunteer database and track volunteer hours and contributions.
  • Communicate event details, schedules, and expectations clearly and effectively.
  • Maintain regular communication to event volunteers through email, phone calls, meetings, and other channels.
  • Provide on-site support during events, overseeing volunteer teams and addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Assist the events department in the planning and execution of USA Pickleball events, including tournaments and clinics throughout the country.
  • Assist with logistics planning in the areas of venue selection, equipment rental, transportation.
  • Manage all internal lodging logistics for staff, referees, players, and partners, utilizing USAP’s lodging technology platform.
  • Support with vendors, sponsors, and partners to ensure seamless event operations.
  • Support the coordination of ancillary services such as catering, merchandise sales, and first aid support.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance the overall event experience for participants and attendees.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and document preparation.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Previous experience in volunteer management, event coordination, or related roles.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
