 Job Description

Equestrian Canada (EC) seeks a skilled Translation Coordinator with experience overseeing the translation needs of an organization, as well as with a strong talent for high quality, consistent and efficient English-French translation.

As a key member of our national communications team, the successful candidate will work closely with external service providers and colleagues to deliver high quality results in a multitude of areas, including equestrian reporting, stakeholder engagement, communications project management, sport communications, marketing campaigns, social media and more.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate professional with a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role. Highly developed translation skills are the top priority and equestrian knowledge is strongly preferred. Other vital strengths include organization and the ability to handle multiple projects while respecting deadlines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the flow of translation requests and providing translation support to all departments across EC.
  • Translate a wide range of communications deliverables from English to French, including sport releases, e-newsletter articles, web content and social media posts.
  • Coordinate with EC’s external translation providers to ensure timely French translation of EC communications and products, and manage and review the relationship with these providers as required.
  • Review externally translated materials to ensure accuracy, consistent language use and alignment with national messaging.
  • Continuously audit EC’s public-facing communications, including the website and social media, to ensure correct and complete French translation across all platforms.
  • Adhere to branding standards and guidelines to ensure a consistent and stakeholder-friendly tone and voice for communications.

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • 3-5 years in a similar position.
  • Bilingualism required.
  • Equestrian knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with HTML/CMS preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity and consistent professionalism.
  • Positive attitude, desire to improve and work in a team environment.
