 Job Description

The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will work as part of the Sport Performance team at the Lake Placid Olympic & Paralympic Training Center, under the direction of the Strength & Conditioning Coach, by assisting in the everyday operations of the Sport Performance training facilities.  This role is anticipated to be a 2-month assignment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide top-level performance services to assist athletes training at the Lake Placid Olympic & Paralympic Training Center (LPOPTC).
  • Assist in the implementation and supervision of strength, speed, and conditioning programs of National team athletes training at the LPOPTC.
  • Aid in conducting performance testing and monitoring of National Team and other select athletes that train at the LPOPTC. May include collection, analysis and interpretation of results.
  • For assigned athletes and teams, assist with periodized, sport-specific training programs including:Olympic Weightlifting and Strength Training
  • Speed, Agility, and Quickness
  • Mobility, Flexibility
  • Dynamic Warm-Up and Cool-Down Protocols
  • Conditioning Sessions
  • Ensure an effective, efficient, high-performance environment at the LPOPTC while lead Strength & Conditioning Coach is traveling or away from the facility.
  • Maintain a professional and positive relationship with all staff at the LPOPTC.
  • Aid in maintaining a safe training environment for all athletes and staff.
  • Ensure the disinfecting, cleanliness, and upkeep of the training areas and equipment of the strength and conditioning facilities at the LPOPTC.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

Minimum Qualifications Required


  • Bachelor’s degree in exercise or sport science

Licensure & Certification:

  • Nationally recognized certification in strength and conditioning preferred
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid


  • Strength and conditioning experience
  • Experience in periodized programming and implementation
  • Experience in conducting and analyzing sport performance testing


  • Ability to effectively teach and demonstrate proper exercise technique in weight training and speed development
  • Demonstrated capacity to work well in team environments with representatives from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to effectively present to groups of varying sizes
