The intern will work closely with the Marketing & Communications department of the Canada Games Council to further the Council’s research initiatives around Canada Games records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and develop stories and written content about the Canada Games for use on social media and website platforms
  • Write feature stories about Canada Games athletes, alumni, and stakeholders in alignment with the Canada Games content calendar
  • Assist in developing creative content using graphic design/editing software
  • Assist with updating CGC media and image databases
  • Support with the uploading of content to website using the WebFlow platform

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  •  Current post secondary student, in which program of study requires an internship or placement, preferably in Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Sport Management or Graphic Design;
  • Proficiency in Google Applications (Drive, Gmail) highly desirable
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Experience developing written content and feature stories for media, social, or web platforms
  • Ability to prioritize and initiate without extensive supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in graphic design, website management and video editing an asset
  • Attention to detail / excellent organizational skills
