The Colorado Rockies are looking for a creative and strategic digital and social leader to serve as the Digital Communications Manager.  This role will help manage the team’s brand, voice, tone and personality across all social and digital platforms with an aim to generate brand relevancy, build brand affinity and engage our current and future fan base. This role will oversee and execute the day-to-day management of Rockies social channels.  Additionally, this role will be responsible for revenue-related efforts including supporting corporate partnerships and promotional efforts.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Define and drive social strategy and editorial calendar, helping develop voice and tone, channel guidelines, goals and audience targets for the Colorado Rockies
  •  Oversee day-to-day posting and community management for all social media accounts, including but not limited to: Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Oversight of the development and management of the department’s content calendar with responsibility of aggregating key club-wide marketing, promotional, and programming priorities
  • Lead event coverage of all Rockies games, community events, and Rockies programming
  • Curate and maintain active engagement with fan base, and develop social media campaigns including budget planning, content strategy, implementation schedules, and event/live-game coverage
  • Pitches and develops creative ideas for social content and initiatives
  • Coordinate with PR and communications teams to develop and share storylines and messaging
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of social media industry trends and assess potential for new social platforms and opportunities
  • Responsible for social and digital analytics reporting.  Develop ongoing reports to provide insights into social media performance/engagement, and make recommendations for improvement in usability, content development and promotion
  • Leverage a data-driven approach to storytelling: ability to synthesize research and insights to evolve tactics and constantly innovate across channels
  • Monitor relevant social conversation around the Rockies, MLB, and current market landscape
  • Lead collaboration with sponsorship team to build engaging content to drive revenue through sellable assets that align with the Rockies brand and partner goals.
  • Collaborate with relevant internal departments to coordinate efforts and cross-promotional opportunities on events such as theme nights, ticket or community initiatives, and sponsorship activations
  • Assist in content management/social media consultation with all internal accounts as well as applicable player and baseball ops accounts
  • Help manage relationships with other local teams, affiliates, NHL social, and vendors

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  •  A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in social media and content strategy
  • A demonstrated history of brand and community building, developing, and overseeing content strategy and management. Experience with professional sports preferred
  • Experience live-tweeting and posting across multiple social media platforms regularly without supervision for organizations, preferably in sports
  • Creative thinker and strategist with an ability to stay organized and manage projects
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with shown experience on writing, editing, and crafting content for social media
  • Confirmed knowledge of social media management tools and platforms
  •  Ability to understand the ecosystems of digital and social media within an organization and ability to produce strategies and tactics to support business goals including but not limited to brand health and growth, fan engagement, community relations, and revenue generation
  • Strong knowledge & understanding of baseball, Major League Baseball
  • Must have strong communication and organization skills
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Spanish speaker/writer a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, multimedia, marketing and or combination of years of experience.
