 Job Description

 Assist the overall supervision/implementation of the strength and conditioning program for minor league players. Evaluates, motivates, and educates athletes in all aspects as it relates to performance enhancement and durability. Assists with nutritional evaluation for players at the assigned minor league affiliate club.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Other duties may be assigned.
Spring Training: 
  • Assist strength & conditioning workouts
  • Assist Major League staff, Coordinator - Strength & Conditioning and Minor League staff with performance testing and supervision of strength and conditions programs for major league and minor league players
  • Assist athletes with performance technology and software
  • Assist athletic trainers and physical therapist with rehabilitation programs, as needed
  • Assist with auxiliary tasks to prepare the team for break camp and season preparation
  • Conduct team stretches, warm-up, agility, weightlifting and running programs
  • Keep weight room clean and organized at all times
  • Perform assisted, individual stretches
  • Assist with rotator cuff program
In-Season:
  • Assist with the implementation of strength and conditioning program consistent with principles of Milwaukee Brewers Strength & Conditioning
  • Set aside time to work individually with players who need assistance
  • Assist with auxiliary tasks related to team operations, including but not limited to travel, rooming lists, hotels, and catering set up
  • Make sure general and individual workout programs are completed and relevant data is collected
  • Assist with the set-up, collection and analysis of S&C performance technology
  • Report any problems/injuries to strength & conditioning coach, athletic trainers, coaches, coordinator
  • Communicate daily with strength & conditioning coach and athletic trainers
  • Assist athletic trainers with rehab programs as needed
  • Knowledge in performance nutrition and NSF certified for sport program in support of education and information at the discretion the sports nutrition department. Work with Brewers Nutritionist/Dietitian to provide proper nutritional counseling to any players in accordance with the Milwaukee Brewers Nutritional Guidelines
  • Report and record any supplement abuse (steroids, recreational drugs, etc.) immediately to the Coordinator - Strength & Conditioning
  • Track and log necessary body mass and or body comp information as needed.
  • Assist with monthly player reports
  • Keep weight room clean and organized at all times
  • Assist with monitoring the nutritional value of meals/snacks provided in the clubhouse

  • Must possess the ability to motivate and inspire high level athletes
  • Must possess the skills necessary to evaluate the athlete’s levels of physical preparedness, movement efficacy, and effort levels
  • Must possess the critical thinking skills and knowledge necessary to develop and modify programs for athletes
  • Must possess sound communication skills
