The ideal candidate is bilingual and possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing, Communications or any related advanced degree. In addition, the candidate will be creative and innovative with the ability to develop visually appealing content and engage our community of stakeholders. A proactive and motivated team player, the successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have strong project management, organizational and time management skills.

  • Develop and maintain contact with CGC alumni, via Alumni Engagement programCoordinate the selection and award process of the Canada Games Awards program
  • Support the planning and execution of Canada Games Council special events including but not limited to the Torch Lighting Ceremony on Parliament Hill, Hall of Honour Induction Ceremony, Partner Recognition Events, and/or Alumni Events
  • Work with external agencies or suppliers to coordinate development of creative assets as well as marketing and promotional materials
  • Maintain regular contact with Provincial/Territorial Teams as it relates to marketing and brand management, including uniform approvals
  • Oversee staff & stakeholder gifting and recognition program
  •  Maintain digital content library of archived visual assets (photos, video, graphics)
  • Design, layout and development of CGC’s Annual Report
  • Execute CGC website updates
  • Coordinate the planning, writing, production, and distribution of the Canada Games e-newsletter
  • Support the development of an annual digital content calendar
  • Support the creation of innovative “fan-first” social platform storytelling and community engagement
  • Produce written news and feature content, edit video footage and build social channel graphics
  • Fulfill sponsor digital activations/assets on CGC social channels, working with members of the Partnerships team
  • Monitor social media activity and engage in social listening
  • Monitor digital analytics and contribute to monthly report on website, social media and newsletter metrics

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, PR, or related field
  • Strong organizational and project/event management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and initiate without extensive supervision
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to confidently convey proactive ideas and suggestions
  • Possess the skill and will to take projects from research, to plan, to execution
  • Experience developing written content and feature stories for media, social, or web platforms
  • Experience managing social media accounts with a considerable audience
