Job Description
The New Orleans Pelicans are seeking a Marketing Manager who will be responsible for executing the day-to-day marketing functions for the organization. This creative and innovative thinker will work closely with the Director of Marketing to develop long-term growth strategies, while handling the implementation of the Pelicans marketing calendar. The ideal candidate will be a true brand champion; working collaboratively with a range of partners to present the Pelicans brand accurately and consistently across all touchpoints.
What you will be doing:
- Understand the New Orleans Pelicans strategic and competitive position to help deliver products and experiences that are recognized as best-in-class
- Drive the annual marketing calendar and successfully manage the execution of tentpole marketing programs, including NBA league initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments including ticket sales, corporate partnerships, community relations, and communications to test and deliver new solutions to market
- Own, oversee, and responsibly allocate the brand’s marketing budget
- Partner with the Analytics department to analyze efficiency of the marketing strategy to ensure we’re delivering a maximized return on investment
- Work hand in hand with the Corporate Partnerships department to develop sponsorship-based activations that reflect the brand accurately, ensuring everything is aligned with strategic priorities
- Ensure brand guidelines are well understood and accurately deployed by both internal and external partners and stakeholders
- Lead all aspects of influencer strategy: maintain and further develop database of influencers; manage relationships, and build and implement strategies for content and experiences
- Guide the work of in-house creative teams and external agencies, as needed
- Nurture a collaborative and positive relationship with all internal partners, leadership teams, and departments
- Enhance efficiency in a constantly evolving market and steward creative solutions to be the norm
Qualifications Required
- Four-year degree in marketing, business, communication or a related field
- 5+ years of brand marketing or advertising experience
- Able to plan and implement marketing programs from concept to completion
- Proficient in all forms of media
- Excellent project management skills and comfortable in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong understanding of brand strategy fundamentals
- Experience with overseeing in-house creative studios and external agencies
- Adaptable and efficient learner; able to step in and pick up on projects quickly
- Experience managing financial P&L
- Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed based on the schedule of the NBA and NFL
