Job Description
In accordance with the Canada Soccer Disciplinary Code and accompanying Annex and the FIFA Disciplinary Code, the Canada Soccer Disciplinary Committee is responsible for evaluating disciplinary cases and determining applicable disciplinary measures. Members of the Canada Soccer Disciplinary Committee may also be selected to sit on Canada Soccer’s Incident Review Body, a panel responsible for reviewing incidents and determining if a prima facie case for issuing a charge exists.
- Independence- Candidates must be capable of making their decisions entirely
independently - Confidentiality- Candidates must be capable of ensuring that everything disclosed to
them during their duty remains confidential - Conflict of Interest- Candidates must have no real or perceived conflict of interest
Qualifications Required
- Strong Knowledge of the IFAB Laws of the Game
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian soccer landscape
- Strong knowledge of the Professional soccer Club landscape within Canada and North America, as well as globally
- Strong knowledge of governing documents/ability to learn and comprehend, including the FIFA Disciplinary Code and the Canada Soccer Disciplinary Code
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong technical/legal writing skills would be an asset
- Bilingualism in both English and French would be an asset
