Job Description
The Tampa Bay Rays are seeking a motivated, organized, and team-oriented individual to assist in the planning and day-to-day operations of non-baseball events and select baseball games at Tropicana Field. This individual will gain valuable experience planning and executing events for a Major League Baseball facility. This internship will run through 12/31/23.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the Stadium and Parking Operations staff in planning, preparation and operation of events at Tropicana Field
- Work closely with all areas of the Rays organization to facilitate Major League Baseball games and special events at Tropicana Field
- Provide assistance with event day activities including crowd management, parking operations, stadium operations and administration.
- Work closely with representatives from Finance, Building Operations, Guest Services and Parking to ensure safety and security for fans and employees at Tropicana Field.
- Perform general clerical office duties, data entry, etc.
- Assist Supervisor with miscellaneous last-minute requests on game days and non-game days
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Marketing, Business, Sport Management or Event Management preferred
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills
- Experience in Event Management and/or Operations
- Work 40+ hours per week, weekends and holidays (including possibly Thanksgiving and Christmas) at Tropicana Field
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Must complete a criminal background check pre-employment.
